Please Consider Attending the May 3rd 6:30 PM Washoe County Meeting!

We are helping to get the word out about a Washoe County hearing this Tuesday night, May 3rd at 6:30 PM in the Washoe County Commission Chambers, 1001 E. 9th Street, Building A, First Floor, Reno, NV, where the Colina Rose housing development on Mt. Rose Highway will be re-considered! Please pass the word! Please see the article here:

    Some pertinent Comments on this proposal;
    1.) We are spending millions of dollars to replenish the aquifer under the Mount Rose fan. Why would we now want to endanger that effort with additional high density housing?

    2.) Per TMWA’s presentations to the community along the Mount Rose corridor there are already 1,000+ approved parcels for development. Given the density, 4.23 homes per acre of this development they are not needed in this location. Furthermore, this ‘standard, 4.23 per acre’ is even more dense than that of California for a similar development of 4 per acre. Why are these developers trying to degrade our life style?

    3.) The street designs do not support emergency services and yet we nearly had a disastrous fire sweep through this area. At an absolute minimum the developer should be required to provide adequate emergency road widths.

    I’m unable to attend this meeting due to a prior commitment. Hopefully some one can make these points at the meeting.
